10 headliners Glastonbury has never booked - but DEFINITELY should
- 1/10
Madonna
A Sunday night set packed with Madonna’s hits would provide a glorious finale to any Glastonbury weekend. Importantly for Madge, there’s always plenty of stewards patrolling the Pyramid Stage. They can help if she falls over as she did the 2015 Brits! (PA Images)
- 2/10
Daft Punk
For a one-off Glastonbury gig Daft Punk should abandon their usual DJ set and assemble a live band with Nile Rodgers on lead guitar, a 20-piece orchestra and all the A-list guest vocalists they’ve featured down the years such as Get Lucky singer Pharrell Williams. (PA Images)
- 3/10
Kylie Minogue
The princess of pop was forced to pull out of her Sunday night headlining slot in 2005 after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Kylie eventually graced the Pyramid Stage when she joined the Scissor Sisters for a song at the 2010 festival and went down a storm. (PA Images)

Depeche Mode
Testimony to Depeche Mode’s legacy is the fact that they’ve been covered by everyone from Johnny Cash to Marliyn Manson. Strutting frontman Dave Gahan would have the audience eating out his hand and punching the air to Enjoy The Silence and Personal Jesus. (Rex)
- 5/10
Duran Duran
You can’t argue with the staying power of Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor. They’ve been selling out stadiums since the early 80s. Synth powered classics Hungry Like The Wolf and Rio sound as fresh today as they did three decades ago. (PA Images)

Take That
As proved by pop acts Beyoncé and Adele headlining, Glastonbury is no longer the preserve of guitar acts. Time, then, for Michael Eavis to book Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald aka Take That. If Robbie Williams came back for it, even better! (PA Images)
- 7/10
Elton John
Surely the only box left to tick on Sir Elton’s musical bucket list is Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage. Rockers such as The Bitch Is Back and weepies like Goodbye Yellow Brick Road would send the hordes home happy on a Monday morning. (PA Images)
- 8/10
Fleetwood Mac
According to reports last year, Michael Eavis said Fleetwood Mac priced themselves out of headlining Glastonbury by demanding too much money. How much cash do the multi-millionaires actually need? Let’s hope Eavis can strike a deal with them! (PA Images)

Kate Bush
Between 1979 and 2014, Kate Bush retired from live performance. This means many of her adoring fans have never seen her on stage. She would be great at Glastonbury. Think Adele’s vocal power combined with the performance artistry of The Arcade Fire. (Rex)

Stone Roses
The Stone Roses pulled out of headlining the Saturday in 1995 and 18 months later they had split. Now they’re back together, it’s time for Ian Brown, John Squire and co to finally lay the ghost of 1995 and top the Pyramid Stage. (Rex)
The Glastonbury Festival has never been more popular but in recent years the same old headliners have been popping up – Coldplay, Muse, Foo Fighters, so on and so forth. Here’s ten headliners, most of whom have never played the festival before, Glasto organiser Michael Eavis needs to get on the phone to…
