Yahoo News 10 times you'd forgotten Jedward went full Jedward
Since their very first X Factor audition in 2009, John and Edward Grimes aka Jedward have barely left our screens, returning most recently as All Stars in Celebrity Big Brother.
Whether you agree with footballer Jamie O'Hara, who called them a "joke act", or you're on the side of Kim Woodburn, and think they're lovely boys, there's no doubting this divisive duo have got up to some weeeeird stuff over the years. Here, we take a look...
1. FANBOYING OVER TAYLOR SWIFT
Nobody's been less cool when meeting Taylor Swift than Jedward. They gushed about how amazing she is, she struggled to understand a word they were saying, and it went on for an awkwardly long time (there's two whole videos of it).
"I'll see you guys around!" she says to wrap things up, but unlucky for her, they have her cornered, and just carry on talking. She's lucky she had security or else she could be dead in their basement right now, while they do dance routines wearing her skin.
2. JUMPING INTO A FREEZING COLD RIVER
When the twins appeared on Swedish TV show Sommarlov, they voluntarily jumped into a freezing cold river to find out the temperature of it.
We don't know why they would agree to that, but we do know they were more worried about ruining their hair than catching hypothermia. Spoiler: their hair did get ruined, and they did did not look happy about.
3. RUNNING THE LA MARATHON WITH NO TRAINING WHATSOEVER
On a trip to LA, the Grimes bros found a leaflet in their hotel room about a marathon taking place the next day, and with allegedly no training at all, decided to run it. Or did they?
Since they weren't able to register and had no runners' numbers or chips, and therefore no official record of their route, some doubt they even did the whole race at all. But they claim they finished it in just over four hours, and since they're basically human Duracell bunnies, we don't doubt it.
4. EDWARD BREAKING HIS LEG ONSTAGE
When the pair performed in front of 70,000 people at T4 On The Beach in July 2010, Edward slipped over onstage and broke his leg. To his credit, he got up and hobbled through the rest of the set, before being stretchered off to hospital where he had to have knee surgery.
The most 'Jedward' bit about it was the weird video John filmed of his brother before he went in for the op, with Edward leaping around and moonwalking through the hospital. Lessons were not learned, because Edward fell off the stage again on his way into the CBB house.
5. FAILING MISERABLY ON A GAME SHOW
In April 2015, Jedward appeared on Pointless Celebrities. And instead of answering questions, they mainly just spoke about their hair and manhandled host Alexander Armstrong, by taking off one of their ties and putting it on him.
They got "really stressed out" when the time came to actually answer some questions, so it's not surprising they got knocked out in the first round. We don't think they'll be appearing on Mastermind anytime soon.
6. THE TIMES THEY TOOK ON EUROVISION
Jedward represented Ireland twice in Eurovision – who knew that was even allowed?! The first time was pretty great, in 2011, when they performed Lipstick and even pulled off a couple of front flips, landing them a respectable ranking of 8 (out of 25). They even did better than the UK's entry Blue, who finished at number 11 with their track 'I Can(not beat Jedward)'. The twins probably should have given up their hopes of winning the contest there, though, since when they came back in 2012, and performed Waterline, dressed as knights from outer space, they finished at number 19. Learn to quit while you're ahead, boys...
7. I'M JEXY AND I KNOW IT
'Content warning: this video may be inappropriate for some users' - that's what comes up when you try and watch the 'Jexy And I Know It' video on YouTube. With good reason, too, since it sees the pair ripping their clothes off and dancing round in the nude, with nothing but bits of coloured A4 paper to protect their modesty. Joke. They don't have any modesty.
What's most disturbing is it looks like they recorded it in their bedroom, probably while waiting for their mum to cook their dinner.
8. EVERY KEITH LEMON SKETCH THEY'VE EVER DONE
As special guests on Keith Lemon's Celebrity Juice, Jedward have undertaken many ridiculous challenges over the years, proving yet again that they will do ANYTHING. Well, John will, Edward usually complains and manages to get out of it.
In one of our favourite clips, John has to eat a throat-burning onion while Edward throws garlic bulbs at Mr Lemon. The picking up sticky tissues from the floor of a teenage boy's bedroom challenge is our least favourite challenge. Vom.
9. FLOODING THE CBB BATHROOM
Their 2011 stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house saw Jedward get up to lots of mischief, including the time they flooded the bathroom.
Edward started violently swishing about in the bath, sending buckets of water cascading over the sides, and despite Kerry Katona shouting at him, he carried on. John pretended to clean it up for a minute, before stopping to drag Edward around on the soaking wet floor. Classic.
10. PERFORMING ON THE X FACTOR
Week two of The X Factor live shows, and Jedward perform Britney Spears classic 'Oops!…I Did It Again'. There was out of tune singing, out of time dancing, and that bit from the video with the necklace from the ocean, which they acted out on the judges' podium surrounded by bubbles.
"But I thought the old lady dropped it into the ocean…" said Edward as John handed him a necklace. "Well Edward, I went down and got it for you," replied John, as an entire nation cringed. Bless 'em.
