Border Force On Alert For Triple Killing Suspect

Border forces are on alert in case a man suspected of stabbing to death his six-year-old sister, their mother and her partner tries to leave the country.

The hunt for Jed Allen is into its second day with more than 100 officers, some armed, combing Didcot, Oxfordshire, and its surrounding areas.

The bodies of Derin Jordon, aged six, Janet Jordon, 48, and her partner Philip Howard, 44, were found in a house in Vicarage Road, Didcot, on Saturday night.

Police said Allen - who has a distinctive spider tattoo on his left hand - was known to them and described him as white and well-built.

The 21-year-old is not considered a danger to the public but officers are asking anyone who sees him not to approach him and to contact them instead.

Mr Ward said a "very small number of armed officers" are assisting with that search, and that the measure was taken "purely for the safety of the searching officers".

Pictures on Allen's Instagram account show him posing with three knives between his fingers, imitating comic book hero Wolverine.

In others he is pictured holding a large hunting knife and knuckleduster.

As people laid flowers and lit candles outside All Saints Primary School, head teacher John Myers described six-year-old Derin as a "beautiful, gentle, happy little girl".

Parents say they are struggling to explain to their children what has happened.

One hand-written tribute on a bunch of flowers said: "You are my family and always will be. I will miss you all each day... You have all left a massive void in my heart which will never be filled.

"I love you all so much, Jan, Phil and my Dezzy Doo."

Allen is a former groundsman at Oxford University parks, which were closed as police searched the area.

His Facebook profile includes status updates such as "Fed up of being treated like dirt" and "Works turned sour already".

His page also says he studied at Marlborough School and that he came from Didcot, but now lives in Oxford.

The Jordons had been living at the Vicarage Road address for two months.

Ms Jordon's former landlady in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, recalled knowing a young Allen, saying he "absolutely loved his mum".

"I didn't know Jed as a 6ft man, I know him as a little fella who was really struggling," said Jane Ilott, 68.

Officers received the tip-off at around 8.23pm and detectives are keen to hear from witnesses who may have been in the area of Vicarage Road at the time.

Sheila Welch, who lives in the same street, said that although she did not know the family, they always looked "happy" and were "a lovely mother and a little girl".

Post-mortem examinations of the victims are expected to continue today.
