Tane firmly refuses, but his old acquaintances aren't giving up so easily and menacingly follow him into Salt. When Tane tries to kick them out for causing a disturbance, one of the guys reacts with violence by breaking a glass bottle and stabbing him with it.

Tane tries to put on a brave face in the immediate aftermath of the incident, telling Mac that the injury is just a scrape and there's no need to get the police involved. Mac can tell it's more serious than Tane is letting on, so she insists on taking him to the hospital for treatment.

The dramatic day takes another unexpected turn when Tane and Mac get trapped in an elevator together inside the hospital building. Mac suffers a panic attack as she's reminded of her involvement in the hospital siege a few months ago. As Tane kindly consoles Mac, will she see him in a different light?

Struck by Owen's physical similarity to the late Evan, an overwhelmed Roo gets cold feet and bails on the date before it even begins.

Owen is shocked as Roo rushes off, but he catches up with her again the next morning and makes it clear that he won't give up on their chance of happiness without a fight.

Justin has agreed to consider having the operation to remove the tumour on his spine. Tori arranges for him to meet top neurosurgeon Christian Green to discuss his options.

When Tori meets Christian for the first time and witnesses his unorthodox bedside manner, there's an instant spark between them.

A few days later, once Justin's surgery has been fully confirmed, Christian leaves Tori flustered by making a personal visit to the Morgan house to check all is well.

As Justin goes in for the operation the next day, can Dr Green make a success of it?

Angelo is as determined as ever to solve the Ross Nixon murder case but is frustrated by his lack of progress. However, he's intrigued when he overhears Irene talking to Bella in the Diner about her recent time away.

Angelo casually mentions this to Irene, who happily spills the beans about Bella's trip with Nikau. What Irene doesn't realise is that this directly contradicts the excuses Bella gave for her repeated no-shows at the police station for her scheduled interview. Angelo is now aware that Bella and Colby have both been lying to him.

Bella is horrified when Angelo confronts her unexpectedly, asking for her to return to the police station for another interview. Irene is also concerned when she realises the consequences of her actions, while Colby goes into a panic as he wonders how much Bella will reveal.

In the interview room, Bella is forced to change her story – confirming that she did go away with Nikau, but only because she was nervous about being asked traumatic questions over her father's murder.

Once Bella is released again, Willow calls the police station with a false tip-off about the Ross case, hoping that it will send Angelo on the wrong track for a while. She's relieved when Angelo heads off for a few days to pursue the lead, believing that it could have credibility.

Willow puts pressure on Colby to end his dangerous liaison with Taylor, but he refuses to listen. Colby takes his plan further and meets up with Taylor in a motel, where they sleep together for the first time.

When they wake up together the next morning, Taylor barely feels guilty after weeks of being neglected by Angelo. But how would she feel if she knew about Colby's ulterior motive?

Dean fights for his future with Ziggy by bombarding her with a list of reasons that she should move back into the pier apartment. Ziggy has deliberately kept her distance since Jai's arrival.

Ziggy eventually decides to give things another go and prepares to move back in, but everything changes for Dean when he discovers that Colby is still recklessly pursuing Taylor.

Dean decides that Ziggy is better off staying far away from the Ross-related dramas, so he leaves her confused and heartbroken by suddenly insisting that he doesn't want her back in the apartment after all.

In the aftermath of his split from Marilyn and the positive progress he has made with his recovery, John is feeling bored and lonely. He begins to hassle some of the Summer Bay residents – including Alf, Jasmine and Irene – in a desperate bid for company.

John's strange mood also doesn't go unnoticed when he offers to pay for Amber and Jai's desserts at the Diner, which is far more generous than his usual attitude.

In the end, Alf instructs John to go and visit Jett in the city for a while to keep himself out of trouble.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5, with first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR.
