Through its ups and downs, one of the prevailing trends of the year in film has been a concentration on palpable chemistry between co-stars, leading to some of the hottest scenes in recent memory.

Whatever is in the ether, be it the rejection of the sexless blockbuster superhero genre that began to fall into autopilot, or backlash to an increasingly puritanical young audience that asks for the thesis of every scene depicting physical touch, or even just a rediscovery of what movie stars are supposed to be, many films this year have been able to tap into what audiences have begun to covet.
While we really do welcome a well-staged sex scene, it has been impressive to see how some modern filmmakers have been able to turn a no-holds-barred tennis match, a Notes app exchange, a glass of milk, or even a simple character introduction into a sequence that elicits desire from those who watch these films.
