Aston Villa's 2023/24 campaign is on pause for the final international break of 2023.

Several players have been called up for their respective countries, as Europe wraps up the group stage of EURO 2024 qualifying, whilst other governing bodies begin qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA.

The Premier League is a global league, and everyone wants to play in it, so when it comes to having South American stars, there are some issues that arise. Brazil-Argentina is a crucial World Cup qualifier, and the two are fierce rivals. There's Douglas Luiz in the Brazil camp and Emiliano Martinez who is Argentina's first choice keeper. The two play on Wednesday, November 22 with a kick-off time of 00:30 in the UK, and so their game won't finish until the early hours of the morning.

The same can be said for Leon Bailey who faces Canada with Jamaica in a CONCAF Nations League quarter-final tie, and his match kicks off in Toronto at the same time UK time. It does mean that ahead of Villa's next league match, they will need to monitor them closely and see if they're fit to play.

The next international block of fixtures takes place in January but that will only players involved with African teams. The Africa Cup of Nations which takes place from January 13 to February 11, and fixtures will not be postponed. Bertrand Traore is the only player as it stands that could be involved after qualifying with Burkina Faso. It'll then be March for when European teams are back for EURO 2024 play-off matches, and then it's the showpiece event in June.
