13 Reasons Why has officially wrapped filming on its second season, which means it can't be too far away now.

Katherine Langford, who plays Hannah Baker, posted on Twitter that shooting is all done ahead of its release on Netflix next year.

The streaming giant picked up the series – at one point the most tweeted-about show of 2017 – for season two earlier this year.

"Season 2 of '13 Reasons Why' is officially finished filming! It will be out next year," Langford tweeted on Monday (December 11).

The new episodes will pick up in the aftermath of Hannah Baker's death, but Hannah is still returning to the show.

The tapes will also be scrapped for season two and therefore it won't be structured around Hannah's narrative.

Selena Gomez, one of the producers of the young-adult drama, has again been involved and even visited the writers' room. However, the singer will not be making a cameo as some fans speculated.

Also returning to the show will be Clay Jensen and Dylan Minnette. Ross Butler dropped out of Riverdaleto be able to rejoin the cast of 13 Reasons Why.

Further actors coming back include Christian Navarro, Kate Walsh and Brandon Flynn. Alisha Boe and Justin Prentice are also set to return for the second season.

13 Reasons Why season two premieres on Netflix in 2018.
