A lottery win of £14.5million is a life-changing event. And Beverley Doran is already saying goodbye to her old one – by letting neighbours on her council estate help themselves to her belongings.

Ms Doran, 37, moved out of her three-bed home after realising that she had landed the EuroMillions jackpot on Saturday.

And now she has given away her sofa, washing machine and other household goods to her neighbours. They could be seen leaving her house with an array of items, as well as rummaging through a skip that had been filled outside.

A friend at the property today said Mrs Doran simply “won’t be coming back”, the Mirror reports.

Ms Doran, has relied for the past two years on benefits to look after her children, who are aged 17, 10, nine and five.

She gave up her job as a receptionist after two of them were diagnosed with autism in 2015. She has now cancelled her benefits and plans to buy her first family home.

Ms Doran realised she had won the jackpot when she checked her phone in bed on Saturday morning.

She said: “I was still waking up when I logged into my account. I could see the jackpot amount but couldn’t work out what I’d won. Then I slowly realised it was one UK winner and that that person was me.
“I babbled to my son and collapsed on the floor and started crying and shaking.”

But she had to borrow £1,000 from a friend to celebrate the win as the money did not arrive in her bank account until after the weekend.

She treated herself to a luxury weekend in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

On her life-changing win, she added: “It’s been a struggle financially – the benefit woman nearly dropped the phone when I told her I’d won the lottery.

“It’s overwhelming to think that I won’t have to struggle again. Before all my money went on the children and I went around in rags.

“I could now even buy a plane! I suffered with depression just worrying about what was going to happen to my children.

“I’m still waiting for someone to come and burst my bubble.”
