14-year-old among 6 arrested for allegedly stealing cars

SINGAPORE — Six individuals, aged 14 to 32, have been arrested for allegedly stealing two cars from carparks in in the western part of Singapore.

They will be charged in court on Wednesday (17 August) and Thursday, said the police in a statement.

The police said they had received reports of the theft which occurred at two carparks at Jurong West Street 52 and Boon Lay Drive on Monday.

The identities of the six men were established via ground inquiries and images from police cameras and closed-circuit television (CCTV) by officers from various police departments.

The men were arrested on Monday and Tuesday. The two stolen cars were recovered.

If found guilty, they can be each jailed for up to seven years and fined.
