With the summer now a distant memory and Christmas more than two months away, it means only one thing: it's spooky season! Uh-huh, Halloween is finally here. Usually we'd have a costume sorted and a list of parties to choose from, but instead we'll be at home getting stuck into lots of Halloween classics (we're not complaining). Here we've rounded up some of the best spooky movies to get you in the mood - from The Craft to Hocus Pocus.

1. The Addams Family

Is it okay that I've got the hots for Lurch? Probably not. But the heart wants what it wants…

2. The Addams Family Values

Easily as good as the the original. Some might even go as far as saying better. Decide for yourself – I'm staying out of it *cough* better *cough*.

3. Hocus Pocus

Hands down one of the greatest Halloween ever. We said it. Plus, how interesting to get an insight into Carrie Bradshaw: the awkward 17th Century goth years.

4. Ghostbusters

The scene with the ghost in the library might just be the worst thing that's ever happened to me.

5. The Rocky Horror Picture Show

If you're a fan of Tim Curry's legs (which you blatantly are…), then this is the film for you.

6. Casper

Stretch, Stinkie and Fatso are such little shits.

7. The Nightmare Before Christmas

Technically this is a Christmas film, as you can tell by the name. But it's full of ghosts, skeletons and pumpkins, so we're having it for this list. You got a problem with that? Speak to Oogie Boogie.

8. Practical Magic

Curses don't come much worse than the one in this 1998 film: every man one of the Owens sisters falls in love with dies. Bit of a bummer…

9. Return To Oz

One word: Wheelers.

10. Corpse Bride

Another Tim Burton triumph.

11. The Witches

If the first five minutes of this adaptation of the Roald Dahl book didn't scar you as a child, did you even have a childhood?

12. Double Double Toil And Trouble

Some might say this is the Olsen twins' greatest cinematic triumph. And they'd be right.

13. The Craft

"Light as a feather, stiff as a board."

14. Labyrinth

Don't pretend this film wasn't the stuff of terrifying nightmares.

15. Toy Story Of Terror

Like Toy Story. Only far more terrifying.
