19-hour weather warning issued for Cambridgeshire as heavy rain set to cause disruption
A 19-hour weather warning will be in force across parts of Cambridgeshire as heavy rain is forecast on Monday (September 30). The Met Office warning will be in place from 8am on Monday (September 30) until 3am on Tuesday (October 2).
The warning covers northern parts of the county, including Peterborough and Wisbech. The Met Office says most places covered by the rain warning could see 20-40mm of rain, but some could see 60-80mm while the warning is in place.
The forecaster said heavy rain may cause some flooding and disruption. There are more than a dozen flood alerts and warnings in place in Cambridgeshire after heavy rain last week.

The warning said: "There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses. There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.
"Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services. Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. There is a small chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded roads."
Residents have been advised to check if their properties are at risk of flooding. If so, they should "consider preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit".
Motorists have also been advised to check road conditions and change travel plans if necessary. The Met Office said: "Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area."
