Two sheriff's deputies in Trenton, Florida, were killed in a suspected ambush, according to multiple news reports published on Thursday.

The deputies from the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office were reportedly killed at around 3 p.m. in a restaurant, according to law enforcement officials.

Initial reports suggest that the suspect may have walked up to the restaurant and shot the deputies through the window. The suspect was reportedly killed and "no suspects are at large," according to the local news outlet, WJXT.

Lawmakers and law-enforcement organizations offered their support after the shooting.

"The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office expresses its sincere condolences to the two Gilchrist County, FL deputies shot and killed in the line of duty today," the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said on Twitter. "Thoughts and prayers for the family, friends, and the entire Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office"

Florida Gov. Rick Scott said he had "offered any state support" the Gilchrist County Sheriff's may need and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi offered her condolences.

"My heart breaks with the tragic news of two Gilchrist County deputies that were senselessly killed today while in the line of duty," Bondi said on Twitter. "My deepest condolences and prayers are with their families as they mourn the devastating loss of their loved ones."
