Kate Middleton and Prince William step out for night at the theater

It's date night at the theater!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped out on Tuesday evening for a special performance of the show "Dear Evan Hansen" at the Noël Coward Theatre in London's West End. The show was held to benefit The Royal Foundation, which launched in 2009 in support of the family's various philanthropic initiatives.

The musical, which tackles bullying, anxiety, depression and suicide in its storyline, was a fitting choice for the couple, who focus much of their charity work on mental health. In particular, the parents of three have established two initiatives to promote mental health awareness under the foundation; Shout, the UK's first 24/7 mental health text hotline, and Heads Together, which seeks to cultivate open conversation on mental health.

Following the show, Kate (in a tweed Eponine dress and Jimmy Choo heels) and William will meet with the production's cast and crew.

On Monday, Buckingham Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would embark on their first official visit to Ireland to meet with various community leaders and hear about the country's environmental conservation efforts. The visit will fall in the middle of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's brief return to the United Kingdom for a series of engagements before they officially transition from royal life in late March.

It is believed that the two couples will reunite at the Commonwealth Service on March 9.
