Brad Pitt reunited with his former spouse Jennifer Aniston at the SAG Awards - after joking in his acceptance speech about "not getting along with his wife."

Aniston and Pitt were seen embracing backstage after Pitt's win, which prompted a huge reaction on social media. The actor took home an award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.

"I've got to add this to my Tinder profile," he joked upon accepting the award.

He went on to make a more serious point about his win, telling the crowd, "Thank you, my brothers and my sisters, this means so much, more than I can possibly fathom. I want you to know I watch everything, I watch you all, and the work has been mesmerizing."

Pitt also thanked "the new generation" of actors, calling out his co-stars Margaret Qualley and Austin Butler.

But the ending might have been the most intriguing part of his acceptance speech.

He said, "Let's be honest, it was a difficult part - the guy who gets high, takes his shirt off and doesn't get along with his wife - it was a big stretch," he said while the camera panned to his first wife, Jennifer Aniston.

He was later warmly embraced by Aniston, who congratulated him on his win.

On Twitter, users went wild over the reunion and video of Pitt watching Aniston win her award. The picture was shared widely on social media, with one user writing that it was "why every elder millennial in your life rn is in a glass case of emotion."

Another said that it was "TOO MUCH TO HANDLE FOR A MONDAY", sharing a picture of Pitt grinning as he held onto Aniston's wrist.

Others also called them the "Ross and Rachel of this awards season", with another comparing the frenzy around their reunion to Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's eyebrow-raising performance at the Oscars.

Another also referenced the other high profile reunions that had happened recently, as Blink 182 bass player Mark Hoppus promised to get the estranged partners back together.

However others also pointed out that it could have been a completely platonic moment between the pair, as one user tweeted out a story in four parts.

In any case, their reunion was one for the celebrity history books - with one user giving it the gravitas it deserved. Sharing a picture of their reunion, they captioned the photo the same way you would a masterpiece at an art gallery.

Aniston won an award for Outstanding Female Actor in a Drama Series for her role on AppleTV+'s The Morning Show, which she starred in and produced alongside Reese Witherspoon. The win marked her first SAG Award in 25 years, since winning for her role as Rachel Green on Friends.
