The Mazda 3 continues its march upmarket with the new-for-2021 2.5 Turbo model, which starts at $30,845 for the sedan model. It's powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four that makes 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque and comes standard with a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The hatchback 2.5 Turbo starts at $31,845 and ranges up to $34,695 in its fully loaded Premium Plus trim level.

In addition to its extra power, the Turbo 2.5 model also offers some visual accessories, as pictured here in hatchback form, that drive the price near $40,000. Mazda offers a body kit for an extra $1075 (or $1900 for the non–Premium Plus model) and black 18-inch BBS wheels are available for $3675.80 for the set of four.

At the other end of the spectrum, the 2021 Mazda 3's base price also drops thanks to the addition of a new base 2.0-liter four-cylinder model. It now starts at $21,445, $1000 less than last year's base model. Mid-level models with a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four are now called 2.5 S, and those start at $22,445 for the sedan and $23,445 for the hatchback. The only way to get a manual transmission is to opt for the 3 hatchback Premium, which starts at $28,795.

Mazda says that the 2.5 Turbo models will be available by the end of this year.
