22,000-Acre Pipeline Fire Devours Forest North of Flagstaff

The Pipeline fire burning north of Flagstaff, Arizona, grew to over 22,000 acres, authorities reported on June 15.

The fire, which was first reported on Sunday morning, led to evacuations in the Flagstaff area. As of Wednesday, authorities said its containment stood at 31 percent.

The nearby Haywire fire, which broke out on Monday, was estimated at just over 5,000 acres as of Wednesday, with no containment.
