22 Kids and Counting's Noel left stunned as Sue shares devastating news

The Radford family returned for a brand new episode of 22 Kids and Counting on Channel 5 tonight (Sunday 26 January) and there was plenty more drama in store for the brood.

Over the course of the episode, Noel noticed Sue being quiet and withdrawn and not revealing where she was going. Becoming concerned, he called her mum to see if she was there and even enlisted the help of their daughters to try and locate their mum.

As he looked inside of their family van, Noel found a leaflet for early dementia and became increasingly worried. Heading inside the house to confront her, the dad-of-22 asked his wife: "What's been going on?", before she revealed it wasn't her who was unwell but one of her good friends who had just been diagnosed with early dementia at the age of 49.

She went on to admit that her friend didn't want her to reveal the news as she hadn't even told her own family yet and wanted it to stay between the two of them.

Sue told Noel: "I'm sorry, it's been awful! But now she's told her family, I can tell you, so... she's got early onset dementia" to which Noel replied: "Oh my God!"

Speaking in a VT directly to camera, Sue expressed: "Gradually her memory will get worse, it's a reality check, it could happen to anyone and you never know what's around the corner", adding that it had "knocked her for six".

The sad news comes after the family starred in a spin-off show called 22 Kids and A Wedding, which saw Millie Radford marry her partner Harley Passmore.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, the famous family appeared on This Morning for an interview. After an advert break, presenter Cat Deeley was smiling to the camera as she joked: "I love this mayhem!"

The ITV star was referring to their large party of 18 guests on the sofa as they prepared to speak to some of the family members in 22 Kids and Counting.

However, it was evident one of the family members wasn't pleased to be on air as the youngest guest, Sue and Noel's grandson Ronnie, was heard crying.

While the interview kicked off, Katie was holding her baby to try and comfort him. Although it was clear the little one was unable to settle, causing an ITV crew member to intervene.

As Cat tried to ask Sue questions about their day-to-day life, one of the production crew took the baby from the family to try to stop him from crying off camera.

Addressing the moment, Ben Shephard told ITV viewers: "We're just passing Ronnie out so he can have a little bit of a walk around the studio. Vicks is taking control! You're in charge now, Vicks."
