The 25p mince pies shoppers say are better than any box from Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons, M&S, Tesco and Sainsbury's
You can't walk in any supermarket without coming across a Jenga-style pile of mince pie boxes at this time of year.
With so many varieties on offer these days, there are so many flavours and toppings to choose from, it can be tricky to find just the traditional kind.
But we tracked them down and completed a blind taste test of the cheapest standard mince pies in each supermarket, including Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons, M&S, Tesco and Sainsbury's.

It was Tesco's Merry Mince Pies, priced at £1.25 a box, that took the winning spot - the 'flavours from the rich fruit mixed with its buttery pastry and just the right amount of sugar on top' declared 'a winning combination'.
But when we shared our results on Facebook, more than 2,000 readers responded, many of them giving their own opinions on their favourite pies.
And there was one pack in particular that was lavished with praise and that was the Morrisons Shortcrust Mince Pies from the supermarket's bakery.
Louise Mellors was the first to mention the pies, saying: "Or better still buy Morrisons bakery mince pies they're the shallow one's at £1.50 for 6 and honestly taste as good as homemade."
Her comment was liked by almost 200 readers, many of whom agreed with Louise, including Amanda Hobson, who said: "100% agree, they’re delicious with Greggs coming in 2nd place," and Samantha Stevenson, who said: "They are the nicest mince pies from any of supermarkets."
Obviously we had to give them a try ourselves and picked up a pack of the pies, which come in a clear plastic tub and cost £1.50 for six.
They are much shallower than the other ones we'd tried and have dusting sugar on the top rather than the granulated you find on the others. That in itself gives a homemade feel to these, as well as more rugged edging and filling oozing from the sides.
The pastry strikes the perfect balance of being soft, but not soggy and there's a smooth buttery taste to it, similar to what you'd get with a shortbread biscuit. And the filling is rich and delicious too.
We still rate the Tesco ones out of the standard box, but these bakery ones definitely take things up a level. And for 25p a pie, it's well worth giving them a go this Christmas.
Morrisons says its own poll of shoppers has revealed mince pies as the most popular festive food item, taking the number one spot in its top 10 of Christmas snacks.
The poll was carried out to celebrate the launch of its partnership with of end of life charity Marie Curie and the introduction of an on-pack donation on a variety of the supermarket’s Christmas sandwiches. For every product sold, a percentage of the proceeds will go to Marie Curie to help people at the end of life and fund vital expert nursing care in communities across the UK.
