A man's Mathew Street night out "didn't end exactly as planned" after he was thrown out of Wall of Fame. At around 9pm on Saturday, November 23 a police officer was on patrol in Mathew Street when he came across the man who had been thrown out of the bar, resulting in an altercation.

Following a warrant at his home address in Kirkby, a further £28,000 in cash, suspected heroin, cannabis, Rolex watches and other items were seized. During the course of the search, a woman was also detained at the address and arrested.

“The door staff and our officer acted swiftly and decisively to deal with and detain the man, and to prevent any further incidents. We work closely with licenced premises to ensure that the city centre remains a safe and welcoming place to visit, so report any such behaviour and we will take action."
