£2K financial boost for Gatehouse-based Wheels of Fleet cycling group

A local cycling group has received some wheely good news.

Wheels of Fleet, an organisation which helps promote cycling for everyone has received a welcome cash boost of £2,000 from Kirkcudbright Rotary.

The funds were raised through the Rotary’s annual cycle sportive event held in August, which supports local cycling charities.

Wheels of Fleet, based in Gatehouse of Fleet, focuses on making cycling accessible by revitalising donated bikes, offering affordable repairs, and providing bike rentals to encourage both residents and visitors to explore the area on two wheels. The organisation also hosts workshops and events aimed at building cycling confidence and advocating for improved cycling infrastructure, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all enthusiasts.
