3 new exercise classes to try to shake up your fitness regime

If you've stuck to your resolution to get to the gym more, congratulations. These classes are your reward. (We know, it's not exactly wine and cheese, but still.)

They're fun, they'll burn calories, they'll boost your mood and energy, and they're brand new.

The WOD at Third Space

The WOD, or Workout of the Day, is a new class at Third Space gyms. Inspired by the demand for Metcon (Metabolic Conditioning) training, it always starts with two key drills, but the actual class changes each day, so you don't get bored.

It's high intensity, using kettlebells, dumbbells and a skipping rope, and classes are 55 minutes long. You'll be on the floor at the end of it, but it's worth it.

BXR London at Selfridges

The boxing gym with the best changing rooms around is popping up at Selfridges until February 25, offering boxing and strength classes or personal boxing sessions.

It's in collaboration with artist and creative director Michèle Lamy, who wants to highlight boxing as a metaphor for exploring cultural and spiritual notions. It's a seriously sweaty workout, and it's trendy, too.

Intro workshops at Heartcore

Heartcore classes are tough, and to those not in the know, the reformer machines look somewhat like torture racks. So, the studios have launched introductory workshops to help you master the moves. Workshops include Intro to Strength and Conditioning and Intro to Dynamic Pilates, so you won't feel like a novice at your first class. Believe us, the workshop is a workout unto itself, and Heartcore will be adding new ones every few months.
