The 3 underrated European cities that are getting direct Jet2 flights from Luton airport

Jet2 will begin operating from London Luton Airport this summer. Three European cities is particular set to get more flights with the destinations to be ‘exclusive from Luton Airport’.

The airline will begin running from Luton on April 1, 2025, when the first Jet2 flight will set off for Majorca. There will be 17 different destinations flyers can choose from, with 36 weekly flights, including the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands and European countries.

Three destinations - Madeira, Girona and Verona - will be new to Luton Airport. Jet2 has also announced that there will be 125 new jobs created from the announcement.

Girona, Spain

There will be flights running weekly on Sundays from London Luton Airport to Girona. The European city is situated in Spain’s north-eastern Catalonia region and has lots to do including museums, architecture and history.

Some of its highlights include Girona Cathedral and the Jewish Quarter. The beautiful coastline and beaches of Costa Brava are also close by.

Verona, Italy

This gorgeous Italian destination will be getting weekly Wednesday services from Luton Airport. Verona is in the north of Italy, and is the setting for Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

There’s plenty to do in the city. Tourists can visit ‘Juliet’s House’ and stand on the legendary balcony, or they can grab a delicious Italian pizza at one of the renowned pizzerias like Saporè DownTown.

Flights to this lovely Portuguese city will be running once a week on a Monday from Luton Airport. The autonomous region of Portugal is an archipelago comprising four islands off the northwest coast of Africa.

The region is famous for its beautiful views and stunning natural features. Tourists can go whale and dolphin watching or visit some of its gorgeous beaches like Praia Formosa.
