34-year-old woman to face murder charge for allegedly stabbing woman, 95, to death in Upper Serangoon

SINGAPORE — A 34-year-old woman will be charged with murder for allegedly stabbing a 95-year-old woman to death in a residential unit in the Upper Serangoon area, the police said on Monday (6 July).

The police said they were alerted to the incident along Recreation Road at about 1.50pm. A paramedic found the elderly woman lying motionless at the scene and pronounced her dead.

Preliminary investigations revealed that both the murder victim and suspect are known to each other.

The younger woman will be charged in court on Wednesday. If convicted of murder, she can be sentenced to death.
