Cape Town – Media mogul Hugh Hefner died on Wednesday at the age of 91.
One of the most prolific people of our time it comes as no surprise that the Playboy Magazine founder also had a television and movie career.
Hefner loved movies throughout his life, calling them "my other family." He screened classic films and new releases at the mansion every week. Every year on his April 9 birthday, he'd run his favorite film, Casablanca, and invite guests to dress in the fashions of the 1940s, AP reported.
He hosted two late night talk shows Playboy's Penthouse and Playboy After Dark. Each show ran for two seasons between 1959 - 1970.
The shows portrayed a "typical" party at Hefner's place, complete with Playboy playmates and celebrities, who would then chat with Hefner and then also perform.

Earlier this year a docu-series about his life, American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story premiered on Amazon Prime.
Apart from his talk shows Hefner had cameo appearances in a number of television shows including: Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Bernie Mac Show, Las Vegas, Keeping Up with The Kardashians, Whose Line is it Anyway and the reality show Girls of the Playboy Mansion.
