4-Year-Old 'Honorary Colorado Police Officer' Rings Bell on Cancer Treatment

A four-year-old “honorary police officer” celebrated completing his final round of chemotherapy on August 19, by ringing the “end of treatment” bell while surrounded by police officers at the Children’s Hospital in Denver.

Claps and cheers filled the hallway as Joshua Salmoiraghi signaled the conclusion of his treatment. Salmoiraghi had been battling stage four kidney cancer since he was three-years-old.

Joshua was “sworn in” to the department in April, shortly before he began his chemo treatment, and police officers chipped in to buy Joshua a battery-powered motorbike.

A clip shared by the Colorado Springs Police Department shows Joshua he walks the corridors of the hospital and rings the bell — much to the rapturous applause of police and hospital staff.
