Liverpool could look to target several new players to strengthen Arne Slot's squad this summer.

The transfer window is open but the Reds are yet to complete their first signing ahead of the new Premier League season. There is still plenty of time, though, for new sporting director Richard Hughes to get deals over the line before the window closes in early September.

Recent months have seen Liverpool linked with several potential new signings. The ECHO has taken a look at four players to be linked with a move to Anfield and have a possibility of ending the transfer window in a Reds shirt.

Anthony Gordon

It was last week that rumours first emerged that Anthony Gordon could be a target for the Reds. Liverpool would have needed to take advantage of Newcastle's desire to comply with the June 30 deadline for Profit & Sustainability Rules for a deal to go through quickly.

The deadline passed and Gordon remains a Newcastle player, for the time being. When he returns from Euro 2024 duty with England, though, the speculation surrounding his future is only likely to ramp up.

Gordon signed for Newcastle from Everton in January last year and has established himself as one of Eddie Howe's main forward options. As a result, Liverpool would likely need to pay a substantial transfer fee to prise him from St James' Park club, unless there is a desperate need for funds for the Magpies.

Leny Yoro

Liverpool have shown an interest in signing Leny Yoro this summer. However, it seems that a deal may be unlikely due to Real Madrid being in the race.

The Reds have an acceptance that Yoro is more likely to join Real this summer. The Lille centre-back is regarded as one of the most talented young defenders available on the market, so it's no surprise that clubs such as Liverpool and Real are interested in signing him.

Should Yoro not move to the Santiago Bernabeu, then Liverpool could look to take advantage and bring the player to Anfield. What fee Lille would demand, though, remains to be seen.

Federico Chiesa

It was in 2021 that Liverpool were first linked with signing Federico Chiesa from Juventus. Fast forward three years and the links have emerged once again.

Reports have speculated that Juventus are willing to let the player leave the club this summer. There have even been suggestions of a £21 million (€25 million) price tag due to Chiesa's contract expiring at the end of next season.

Liverpool already have Mohamed Salah in the right wing spot, of course, so Chiesa may not be a guaranteed starter. But the Reds would be wise to have a plan for when Salah eventually leaves Anfield, whether that be this summer or in the future.

Adrien Rabiot

When it comes to midfield, Liverpool already added four new faces last summer. Now there are rumours further additions could be made to the squad during this transfer window.

France international Adrien Rabiot has been linked with a move to Anfield in recent days. The midfielder is now a free agent after his contract with Juventus expired at the end of last month.

Whether Liverpool are in the market for a new midfielder after the overhaul 12 months ago remains to be seen. If Slot wants a new player in the middle of the park, though, signing Rabiot for no transfer fee could represent a bargain deal.
