50 wraps of white powder seized after men spotted 'acting suspiciously'
Two men have been arrested after they were spotted by police "acting suspiciously". Officers from EVOLVE Liverpool-Knowsley were on patrol wearing plain clothes when they saw the men inside a car on Lyme Grove, Huyton, at around 8.30pm on Friday, November 22.
Officers spoke to the men and conducted a search of the car where they discovered a bag containing around 50 wraps of white powder suspected to be cocaine. A 33-year-old man from Huyton and a 37-year-old man from Prescot were arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply and taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning.
Both were subsequently released pending further investigation as enquiries continue. Local Policing Inspector Jennifer Murray said: “Our officers are committed to taking drugs and those who are prepared to engage in drug-related activity off our streets.

“We know that drugs go hand-in-hand with organised crime and this brings fear and misery into our communities. Our EVOLVE operations are determined to shut down organised crime groups in these areas and make them safer for those who live there.
“So I urge the public to let us know of any drug-related activity, or any other criminality linked to organised crime groups so we can take action to protect vulnerable people and bring offenders to justice to make our communities safer for all.”
Huyton falls within the parameters of EVOLVE Liverpool-Knowsley, which is one of the Force’s Clear, Hold, Build areas and focuses on shutting down organised crime groups operating in these areas and working with partners to make these communities safer for generations to come.
