A 52-year-old woman from Tredegar has gone missing

UPDATE: Police confirmed on the evening of October 2 that Janine Evans had been found.

Police are appealing for help to locate a woman who has gone missing. Gwent Police said Janine Evans was last seen in Ebbw Vale at around 3.40pm on Tuesday, October 1.

The 52-year-old, from Tredegar, was wearing a light blue t-shirt, black jacket, blue jeans and black trainers when she was last spotted. She was carrying a grey shoulder bag and is around five foot three inches tall.

Police said Ms Evans was of medium build with mousey-coloured short hair and wore glasses. They are encouraging anyone who has information of her whereabouts to come forward. For the latest Welsh news delivered to your inbox sign up to our newsletter.

A statement from Gwent Police read: "We’re appealing for information to find Janine Evans, 52, from Tredegar, who is missing. Janine was last seen in Ebbw Vale at around 3.40pm on Tuesday, October 1. She was last seen wearing a light blue t-shirt and a black jacket, blue jeans, black trainers and carrying a grey shoulder bag. Janine is described as white, around 5 ft 3” tall and of medium build. She has mousey-coloured short hair and wears glasses.
