Will Love Island 2017 winners Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies stay together?

Let's face it, it's rare for reality stars to find love on television. Whether it's Blind Date, Big Brother or even Take Me Out, we hardly ever see a couple that manages to truly find a meaningful connection that continues once the cameras have stopped rolling.

But that's where Love Island is different. Since ITV2 rebooted the series in 2016, there've been numerous engagements, and even a baby or two – so there is hope for this year's couples.

With the latest series coming to an end, here's a look back at the previous lucky couples that have managed to stick together. For a while, at least!

1. Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen

It began as a bumpy ride for these two, as Alex initially had eyes for Zara Holland – and we all know how that turned out. But soon enough they found each other in the villa, and by the end of the series, they literally couldn't keep their hands off each other. No seriously, apparently they got it on more than 30 times!

They became boyfriend and girlfriend before the cameras stopped rolling, and Alex later popped the question. The happy couple are now living together... so, where's our wedding invite?

2. Scott Thomas and Kady McDermott

Another major success story from the show. Scott and Kady's love for one another has blossomed since their series came to an end.

The pair are currently living together in Manchester, and they were in the spotlight again last year when they were seen supporting Scott's twin brother – Emmerdale star Adam – during his appearance on I'm A Celeb.

While they've yet to take the next step and get engaged, we wouldn't be at all surprised if it's on the cards, so keep one eye on their Instagram for an announcement.

3. Cally Jane Beech and Luis Morrison

The first couple to have had history before appearing on the show, meeting up again in the villa gave them a chance to give their relationship another go. They quickly became inseparable, and Cally gave birth to their first daughter earlier this year.

Sadly, it's not all good news. Just weeks after welcoming little Vienna Morrison-Beech, Cally and Luis announced that they were separating. But given the fact that these two have split up and got back together before, we're still hopeful they'll rekindle things.

4. Rykard Jenkins and Rachel Fenton

These two had a rocky start thanks to a love triangle with Olivia Buckland, but they managed to get themselves back on track before the end of their series. They were recently spotted on holiday together, shortly after Rachel revealed that she's since forgiven Rykard for his fling with Olivia.

During an interview with TalkRadio back in February, she explained: "I've tried to forget about it now and move past it. What I always say is we weren't together when that happened so I suppose he didn't cheat."

While there's no talk of an engagement, the couple continuously share loved-up selfies on Instagram, and in 2017 that's basically the same thing, right?

5. Cara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey

Cara and Nathan first got together on the show's second series. They remained close right up to the very end and ended up being crowned joint winners and bagging the £50K cash prize.

They said then that they were determined to stay together and make their relationship work in the outside world – and it turns out they managed it. Well... almost.

The couple broke up earlier this year, but – in a major plot twist that was certainly reality TV worthy – they revealed just weeks later that they were expecting a child together. Cara recently appeared on This Morning and said that she's hoping she and Nathan work things out and get back together once the baby arrives. We guess we'll watch this space.

6. Emma-Jane Woodham and Terry Walsh

Things got hot and heavy between this pair very quickly and their infamous sexcapades – which they've since both admitted they regret – even ended up getting investigated by Ofcom. Naughty!

Once their series finished, the couple were inseparable and even got a puppy together. However, in February this year, Terry took to Twitter to announce that the couple were going their separate ways: "Me an Em have broken up. We're still friends. One chapter closes another must open."

Not exactly the ending we were hoping for, but they still lasted a hell of a lot longer than anyone predicted.

... And what about this year's couples?

They've not been out of the villa long but Love Island fans are already debating which couples are likely to split and which couples will go the distance.

According to bookmakers BoyleSports, Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood, along with Marcel Somerville and Gabby Allen are joint favourites to split up first at 9/4. Kem Certinay and Amber Davies follow in second place at 11/4, while Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt are least likely at 7/2.

Despite not winning the series, Jamie and Camilla are the favourites to get engaged by the end of next year, while Kem and Amber are next up at 13/2.

Judging by previous series, anything is possible...
