South African born producer, songwriter and influencer, Esjay Jones returns to her home town of Durban on Sunday 22 October 2017 with LA based DJ, SHASTA for a FREE concert in benefit of Diabetes South Africa. Oktoberfest at Hillcrest Quarry
Hillcrest Quarry in Durbanville Winelands, will play host to the official Windhoek Oktoberfest Cape Town brought to you by Namibian Breweries. The festival will be taking place from Friday to Sunday this weekend. Expect some authentic German music from The Kirchdorfer band who have been the official band in the "Hacker-Festzelt" at the Oktoberfest in Munich since 1994. Konjo Vol 1.
The first installment of KONJO is taking place at The Woodstock Foundry on Saturday. KONJO is an independent Pan-African music and culture movement that curates events of eclectic music from South Africa, the greater African continent and the African diaspora in the global south. Acts set to perform include BLK JKS, who will be performing in Cape Town for the first time in over 4 years, The Brother Moves On (jhb) ft. Shabaka Hutchings (bb/uk) and Hi, I'm K-$, Zara Julius (jhb), Paul Waxon and matsang (visuals). Tickets cost R150 at the door. Doors open at 17:00. Click here for more info.
The Nitro Circus is returning to South Africa. The high-adrenaline tour will kick off in Cape Town on Saturday, 21 October. The global action sports phenomenon will bring an all-new show with them, filled with unbelievable world firsts, spectacular tricks and mind-blowing stunts. Adding even more to the excitement, action sports icon Travis Pastrana, who wasn’t able to take part in the 2014 trek, will join this summer’s tour, and will ride in South Africa for the first time. Wanting to explore a different side to Acoustic Element, they stayed true to the acoustic feel of their instruments whilst exploring the alter ego of their own brand.
