Since lockdown began, women all over the UK have been coming up with DIY methods of keeping on top of their grooming habits; the latest of which is a home brow tinting kit that's been touted as 'better than the salon'.

Now that restrictions are starting to slowly lift, but beauty salons confirmed not to reopen until July, people are continuing to rely on home hair dye kits and celebrity hairdresser fringe-trimming tips and tutorials to maintain their appearance a home; and this includes brow tinting.

Luckily, beauty brand Eylure have come up with an inexpensive way to successfully tint your own brows at home, for a fraction of the salon price, with the Eylure Dybrow Eyebrow Dye Kit.

Priced at just £7, the easy-to-use formula promises natural-looking, fuller brows, with results lasting for up to 6 weeks. The pack, which contains a bottle of brow tint, a tint activator, an applicator brush and wand, uses semi-permanent dye to enhance brows; much like a home hair dye colour.

Promising up to 12 applications, the inexpensive kit, which sells every 30 seconds in the UK, has received hundreds of 5-star reviews from happy customers, dubbing it 'better than the salon.'

'Oh my god! I spend £25 at the salon for the same thing that this does. Unbelievable little tool to have. It's so easy to use!' said one customer.

'I would never again pay someone to tint my brows, or go back to applying make up to them daily,' claimed another.

The pack is super easy to follow, as long as you follow the simple instructions, most of which are very similar to a home hair dye box kit.

How to dye your brows at home

  • Just as you would when colouring your hair, you firstly mix the dye cream and activating solution together in the dish provided.

  • Dab some vaseline along the hairline where skin meets brow, to prevent any staining.

  • Then simply brush the dye through your brows with the wand included, ensuring each strand is coated. Eylure makeup artist Sara Sordillo advises to 'brush up, down and left to right to ensure each hair is coated.

  • For a natural finish, apply the dye to the tail of the brow first, working your way through the arch to the front.

  • Wait a few minutes for the dye to develop, Sordillo recommends you 'start your timer as soon as the first brow is coated. This way you will get a more even result as you will remove tint off the first brow which will account for the time difference.'

'If you have lighter hair colour and lighter brows and want to keep the colour more natural, shorten the time the tint is on the brows,' says Sordillo. 'You can always repeat the steps again to darken, but not to lighten,' she warns.

  • Once you've removed the dye, simply brush your brows into your desired shape, pluck any stray hairs the dye might have clung to and there you have it - salon-worthy tinted brows!

Remember to carry out a patch test at least 48 hours before dyeing your eyebrows
