74-year-old dies in Trinity County flood waters

TRINITY COUNTY, Texas (KETK) – Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace said that the sheriff’s office recovered the body of a dead 74-year-old man from swift water around midnight on Wednesday.

Originally the sheriff’s office said they were responding to a 911 call about multiple cars being caught in high water on Piney Creek Road. Then they learned that a man was missing after trying to go back to his vehicle to retrieve items.

Roy Beauchamp, 74 of Corrigan, was found dead in swift water after a search involving several agencies. Beauchamp’s body was retrieved and the sheriff’s office is sending their prayers to his family.

Wallace said Trinity County has had thousands of dollars worth of damage to roads and infrastructure after they got between 7.56 and 12.99 inches of rain through the county.
