Comedian Katherine Ryan has revealed she and her boyfriend fought off a masked robber who broke into her house.
Ryan took to Instagram on Saturday night (October 19) to reveal that the incognito intruder attempted to steal her laptop, which contains the script to her new Netflix series The Duchess, but her boyfriend Bobby Kootstra managed to wrestle it back.
Sharing a picture of the police at her home after the attempted robbery, Ryan wrote: "Cool to be robbed tonight by a masked man in our home."
On her boyfriend saving her laptop, which she revealed was splattered with blood, she said: "This is why I love Bobby K because he got in a fight and wrestled back my Netflix series and scripts."
Naturally, Ryan said she was unable to sleep following the incident, telling her followers: "That's fine I never liked sleeping anyway."
Back in June, the comedian said that she hopes The Duchess can meet the "very high bar" of British comedy shows.
Appearing on Sunday Brunch today (June 30), the comedian spoke of her admiration for shows like Fleabag and Gameface, and that she hopes her own effort can live up to their standards.
"I'm trying to be mindful of the story," she said. "I'm such a fan of Fleabag and Gameface, my friend Aislinn has This Way Up coming out, and I love watching British comedies, and I just hope that I can meet that very high bar."
