Who doesn't love a great soap romance? But even more adorable is when all that on-screen snogging spills over into real life. Yes, we're talking about those soap pairings who've actually been items both on camera and at home at the same time. Life imitating art and all that.
Okay, so the majority of these relationships have ended up fizzling out in both instances, but there are a couple of times where actors have ended up finding their soulmates through working together – and there's even been wedding bells for one happy duo.
Here is our rundown of eight couples who were getting up close and personal after the director shouted 'cut'...
1. Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan (Scott and Charlene Robinson in Neighbours)
As '80s soap icons, Neighbours' Scott and Charlene captured hearts across the globe, with fans following their love story from the first meeting on Ramsay Street all the way to that unforgettable wedding. But hysteria reached fever pitch when Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan announced they were an item IRL.
After releasing their smash hit duet, 'Especially For You', the power couple quit Erinsborough to focus on their singing careers. But their days of making sweet music together came to an abrupt end when Kylie dumped pretty boy Jase for sexy rock star Michael Hutchence and went on to become a pop goddess.
Despite it being nearly 30 (yes, 30!) years since they were a couple, Jason recently revealed he still can't talk about the split from his first love. Poor lamb.
2. Tina O'Brien and Bruno Langley (Sarah Platt and Todd Grimshaw in Coronation Street)
Back in the early noughties, when Todd hadn't come to terms with his sexuality, he and Sarah were the cutest couple on the cobbles. The young lovers got quite serious, even moving in together – but after trying it on with Nick, and having a fling with another man, Todd bravely came out as gay to Sarah.
It marked the end for the pair, and despite being romantically involved with co-star Bruno Langley at the time, Tina O'Brien revealed she didn't find it strange acting out their characters' break-up. Perhaps they were getting some early practice in, as it wasn't long before the soap stars called it quits for real. Tina didn't have to look very far for her next boyfriend though...
3. Tina O'Brien and Ryan Thomas (Sarah Platt and Jason Grimshaw in Coronation Street)
Those fit Grimshaw brothers were obviously an irresistible pair. Following the end of her relationship with Bruno Langley, Tina O'Brien kept it in the family (sort of) by getting together with her new on-screen squeeze, Ryan Thomas.
The tabloids had a field day, and while Sarah and Jase's relationship went from strength to strength, Tina and Ryan also proved they weren't just a quick fling when they announced in 2008 they were expecting a baby together.
Back on the street, their characters split when Sarah left Weatherfield to live in Milan, and a couple of years later, Tina and Ryan also went their separate ways. But the exes remain close mates and co-parents to their daughter Scarlett.
4. Stephanie Davis and Charlie Clapham (Sinead O'Connor and Freddie Roscoe in Hollyoaks)
Freddie Roscoe always had a thing for feisty women – and they didn't come much feistier than Diane's stepdaughter Sinead. Their tumultuous relationship resulted in one of the shortest-lived marriages in soap (by Hollyoaks standards, that's saying something), and the drama didn't end when the cameras stopped rolling.
Clearly unable to get enough of one another, Charlie Clapham and Steph Davis played their own on/off love affair out over social media, oversharing all their make ups and break ups, before splitting for good in 2014. Charlie soon moved onto dating fellow co-star Tamara Wall. Bet it was a bit awks on set.
5. Steve McFadden and Lucy Benjamin (Phil Mitchell and Lisa Fowler in EastEnders)
While Lisa Fowler went to great lengths to get rid of her drunken baby daddy Phil Mitchell – even shooting him on the steps of his own house – there was more love than war between Steve McFadden and Lucy Benjamin, who got together after meeting on the 'Enders set. The couple dated one another from 1999 to 2003, and were papped together on the red carpet looking smitten.
Fans were left gutted when the actors split, and Steve later blamed their break-up on the controversial phone hacking scandal that affected so many celebs. But the former lovers were reunited (just on screen) earlier this year when Lisa made a brief, but very dramatic return to the Square.
6. Anne Haddy and James Condon (Helen Daniels and Reuben White in Neighbours)
Beloved Mrs D was a friend to everyone in Ramsay Street, but had zero luck when it came to men. After a disastrous marriage to conman Michael Daniels, Helen had a second chance of happiness when she met charming gentleman Reuben White (who was played by Anne Haddy's real-life husband, fellow Australian actor James Condon). But cruelly it wasn't to be, as Reuben breathed his last breath only days after marrying everyone's favourite gran. Sob!
Sadly, death parted Anne and James only a few years later, when the actress passed away in June 1999 after a long illness. James outlived his wife by 17 years, and died in 2014 at the ripe old age of 90.
7. Alex Fletcher and Neil Davies (Jacqui Dixon and Robbie Moffatt in Brookside)
Back in her Brookie days, Alex's character Jackie was engaged to wed suave solicitor Nathan Cuddington, but a meeting with sexy Scouser Robbie Moffatt on her hen do in Benidorm made her realise she was making a massive mistake. The wedding never went ahead, and back home, Jacqui and Robbie picked up from where they left off in sunny Spain.
It turned out to be more than just a holiday romance for Alex and Neil Davies too, who married in real life in 2003. They are proud parents to daughter Yasmin, and baby son Hanson. While Alex is still in Soapland, playing Hollyoaks' Diane since 2010, Neil – whose first and only acting role was Brookside – quit acting to become a sports physiotherapist.
8. Amanda Clapham and Alfie Browne-Sykes (Holly Cunningham and Jason Roscoe in Hollyoaks)
There must be something in the water at 'Oaks – those co-stars just can't seem to stay away from one another. Another pair who did a bit more than learning their lines together were Amanda Clapham and Alfie Browne-Sykes (aka school sweethearts Holly and Jason).
On-screen, Hols was caught up in a steamy love triangle with Jason and his naughty twin brother Robbie, but Amanda only had eyes for Alfie. The couple's working relationship ended last year when Jason ditched Chester (and Holly) for a new life in London, but we're pleased to report that Alfie and Amanda are still going strong. They even co-parent an adorable French bulldog called Frankie. All together now... Ahh.
