Best known for playing the second Pippa on Home and Away, Debra Lawrance is swapping the shores of Summer Bay for a stay in Ramsay Street as Susan Kennedy's sister Liz.

To mark her arrival, we look at some other well-known faces who have appeared in both Home and Away and Neighbours.

1. Bruce Samazan

On Neighbours, Samazan played chef Mark Gottlieb. He is perhaps best remembered for breaking up with Annalise Hartman at the altar to become a priest. It would be fair to say that Mark's religion storyline was one of the strangest of the '90s. The whole thing was treated as a mental breakdown, with Mark alienating himself from everyone, renaming the coffee shop 'The Holy Roll' and only becoming his old self again after a fall left him in a coma. He departed not long after to become a TV chef.

Samazan then joined Home and Away as Brad Cooper, a therapist who was helping Chloe Richards recover after she was raped on the beach. Only as it turned out, Brad himself was the rapist and once she made the discovery, he literally laid traps to stop her from fleeing – only to lose a leg in one of the traps himself.

2. Kip Gamblin

Gamblin joined Home and Away as Scott Hunter in 2003 and stayed with the show for two years. One of his largest storylines on that show involved his relationship with Hayley Smith and the question of whether he was the father of her child. The story played a big part in his exit when he was confirmed to indeed be the dad and he and Hayley departed Summer Bay together.

He went on to play the role of Brad Willis on Neighbours between 2013 and 2017. Brad arrived with wife Terese, but his main storyline was the rekindled relationship with Lauren that sets tongues wagging on Ramsay Street. The two left together as a married couple last year, but his son Ned has recently returned as a regular.

3. Rebekah Elmaloglou

Elmaloglou joined Home and Away in 1990 and remained on the show for three years as Sophie Simpson; a foster child of Pippa and Tom. She made three returns to the show over the years in 2002, 2003 and 2005.

Fun fact, and to throw two more actors who had changed shows into the mix, Sophie's father was played by Terence Donovan who would go on to play Doug Willis on Neighbours. Sophie also dated a man named David Croft, played by Guy Pearce, who was then best known as Neighbours' Mike Young.

Years later, Elmaloglou joined the cast of Neighbours as Brad's wife, Terese Willis. She has become a bit of a staple of the show and remains a regular five years after her introduction. Since separating from Brad, Terese has had a romance with Gary Canning as well as some long lasting sexual tension with original character Paul Robinson.

4. Andrew Morley

Between 2013 and 2015, Morley starred in Home and Away as Spencer Harrington, a teen runaway. The character was linked with fellow teens such as Sasha and Maddy and went to great lengths to help the latter when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Spencer left the Bay to help his mother take of his sick father.

Upon joining Neighbours in 2015, Morley initially played someone with a lot of mystery surrounding him. Injured in the Lassiters explosion, he awoke with amnesia and went by the name of John Doe. He became more involved with Paige Smith as time went by, only to discover that his name was Jack and that he was actually a priest. Morley left the show earlier this year with Paige and their baby.

5. Craig McLachlan

Part of the golden era of '80s Neighbours, McLachlan played lovable ex-con Henry Ramsay. The man with the famous mullet was part of several memorable storylines during his tenure, including a romance with Bronwyn Davies. He left the show in 1989.

He changed soaps shortly afterwards to play Grant Mitchell and just to clarify, this was a teacher on Home and Away and not a bald 'ard nut from Walford. He only remained on the show for a little over a year and the actor said he made a conscious choice to remove all "Henryisms" from his performance.

6. Richard Grieve

Grieve appeared on Neighbours between 1994 and 1996 as motorbike riding Sam Kratz. He is perhaps best remembered for his relationship with Annalise Hartman, which almost came to an abrupt end when he discovered she and Stonefish Rebecchi were having an affair. The two reconciled and he followed her to London after she left Erinsborough.

Grieve then moved over to Home and Away where he played doctor Lachlan Frasier, a love interest for Isla Fisher's Shannon Reed. The character left the show under tragic circumstances after being diagnosed with a brain tumour and dying off screen. As for Grieve, he added another soap to his list after starring in Emmerdale as Jonny Foster.

7. Jodi Anasta

Back when she went by Jodi Gordon, Anasta played Martha MacKenzie on Home and Away and remained on the show for five years after joining in 2005. Martha went through a lot during her time on the Bay from a secret life as a pole dancer to battling alcoholism and breast cancer. Her departure was equally as dramatic as she was last seen fleeing the Bay in a stolen police car.

Anasta joined Neighbours in 2016 as Susan Kennedy's niece Elly Conway. The teacher has been the focus of numerous relationship stories since her arrival – including getting a little too close to one of her students, Angus. She is currently seeing Mark Brennan and if his past relationships are anything to go by, he'll likely be proposing shortly.

8. Bernard Curry

Curry was part of the Neighbours cast from 1995 to 1996 as Luke Handley. Living at Number 30, Luke had relationships with Libby Kennedy, Ren Gottlieb and Danni Stark – not bad for a stint of less than two years!

His biggest storyline was the character's battle with cancer, which included a particularly powerful scene involving Luke shaving his head. After becoming a policeman, he did get his happy ending by reuniting with Danni, who had left previously.

Curry joined Home and Away years in 2009 as Hugo Austin, a role he played for just over a year. He and Martha became an item and after a spell in witness protection. He was also in that police car with her when she left Summer Bay for good.
