8 Strictly conspiracy theories that went viral
The Strictly Come Dancing rumour mill has been busy this year.
It's been churning out some pretty interesting stories to say the least, ranging from the downright bonkers to behind-the-scenes gossip that could very well be true. We're not sure what to make of it all, but either way, the Chinese whispers have been keeping us entertained.
Here, we take a look back at some of the wildest fan conspiracy theories to hit Strictly Come Dancing 2017...
1. The truth about Mollie and AJ
Are they or aren't they? We're sure the 'couple' will reveal all when they're good and ready. But until that day comes, fans have been wondering why the show has been adding fuel to the fire.
If the pair really want to keep their alleged relationship a secret, why is it being mentioned every five minutes? Not just on Strictly, but It Takes Two as well?
Some fans think this is a deliberate move by producers to entertain viewers and keep the show in the headlines. Others suspect that Mollie King and AJ Pritchard are playing along because all the attention is what kept them in the competition for so long.
Hmm...
The Mollie and AJ showmance they're pushing to get them into the final is one of the worst things the producers have ever done imo. She'll be the worst finalist since Mark Wright. #strictly

Tess (or, at least, her script) is really pushing the Mollie / AJ ship hard, isn't she? #strictly

2. It's all fixed
One of the biggest shocks of the series came when Aston Merrygold lost his place in the competition.
Up until that point, he – along with Alexandra Burke – had been favourite to win. So when the JLS star was eliminated in week six after Craig Revel Horwood awarded him just four points, there was basically a national outcry. Fans, celebrities and even the professional dancers on the show accused the judge of under-marking. But why would he do that?
According to some fans, Craig's score was all part of a masterplan set up by producers. Apparently, the show is completely fixed and that is why Aston was booted off the show so early.
Yep, it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Craig can just be grumpy AF sometimes.
I didn’t watch & won’t again but I’m told the lily liveried, weak assed strictly producers are pathetic. They could have given us a real show by bringing Aston back to prove judging isn’t fixed. I hear tonight proved hi fixed it is #strictlycomedancing

So sick of the fakeassed dancers #Alexandraoveracting and sending home one of the best dancers#Aston! Fake and fixed#Strictly

Strictly is losing it's appeal. Aston should not have been knocked out last night. One of the best dancers. Beginning to think it's fixed

3. Shirley and Darcey's beef
Why is it that whenever two women are put on a judging panel together, everyone assumes they must hate each other?
We first saw it with Cheryl and Dannii Minogue on X Factor, then Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden on Britain's Got Talent, and now apparently Shirley Ballas and Darcey Bussell are at war.
The stories have been flying around for months, and some were convinced the rumours had been confirmed when Darcey "snubbed" Shirley after the head judge reached for her hand. We have to admit, the awkward moment didn't look great on camera – so what's the deal with this one?
"Our backgrounds are world apart. I come from a housing estate, the under-privileged if you like, and she comes from privilege," Shirley told Radio Times. "But her persona and lovely attitude work well with mine. I just want to cuddle her all the time."
Strange comments to make about your alleged enemy...
