Reality shows are guaranteed to deliver one thing no matter what... DRAMA!

While they may be all smiles on-camera – or not in some cases – you never quite know what's going on behind the scenes.

From Strictly to The X Factor, sometimes reality co-stars are just destined to absolutely, whole-heartedly hate each other. Here are some of reality TV's biggest fallings-out ever and – where we can find them – the reasons why.

1. Sam Faiers and Ferne McCann

These two got on like a house on fire, but then they mysteriously didn't – and things just haven't ever been the same between them.

Most recently, Sam's sister's boyfriend Greg Shepherd tweeted a sniffy comment to Ferne about her support of Charlotte Crosby's rival show:

Neither Ferne nor Sam has commented publicly on the reason for their fallout, except to say that "it was never about Arthur" – ie Ferne's disgraced ex-boyfriend, who was jailed for an acid attack.

2. Dannii Minogue and Sharon Osbourne

These two were a recipe for disaster from the very beginning. They hated each other pretty much from day one, and they were locked in a constant war of words in the press. Sharon even appeared on The Graham Norton Show and mocked the Aussie star's accent and poked fun at her Botox.

But the root of the feud? It turns out Simon Cowell and Dannii had been more than friends at one point, creating a division on the panel – which did not sit well with Shazza.

3. Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj

Bagging two of the world's biggest stars for the American Idol panel was a huge deal for producers, but it turned out to be anything but an easy ride.

Rumours of a feud between the pair leaked shortly after filming started, and while at first it seemed like it could have been the usual fake news, leaked videos from the audition room proved that the co-stars really couldn't stand each other.

Why? We're still not quite sure how it all began but it culminated in Nicki describing the Grammy Award winner as a "bitter, insecure woman," while Mariah claimed the experience was like "working in hell with Satan".

Don't mince your words, ladies.

4. Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag

This will probably go down in history as the most iconic reality-show feud of all time. Lauren and Heidi were best friends and completely inseparable. They were living their dreams side by side.

But after moving in together, things slowly began to go sour. When Heidi met her husband Spencer Pratt, she had less and less time for LC. Then the two former BFFs fell out pretty much permanently when Spencer spread a rumour about a sex tape featuring Lauren.

5. Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge

Sure, the biggest falling out on the show was between Lauren and Heidi, but we can't forget her broken friendship with Audrina either. Viewers saw the pair fall out and then try time and time again to mend their relationship, but it never worked out.

Things became passive-aggressive between the pair and they basically cut each other out of their lives.

(Vaguely) explaining what happened, Audrina said: "I don't really talk to Lauren or see her at all. I think there was a little of a falling out [between us]. We kind of went our separate ways. The show brought us together and without that show, we all kind of go back to our own thing."

6. Fern Britton and Artem Chigvintsev

These two seemed all smiles on Strictly in 2012, but it was an entirely different story behind the scenes. The pair had a volatile working relationship, and Fern claimed that Artem once threatened to "kill" her during rehearsals.

Artem, who has since quit the show, played down the remarks, and their feud didn't help them on the dance floor as they ended up finishing a measly tenth.

7. Patrick Kielty and Kelly Brook

We're not quite sure who decided these two were a good match, as despite the initial success of Love Island back in 2005, presenters Patrick and Kelly completely failed to hit it off.

It was claimed at the time that Patrick angered Kelly when he revealed on-air that she'd once slept with contestant Paul Danan, and things went downhill from there. A source at the time claimed: "You could almost see the steam coming out of her ears. She went red in the face and just bellowed at Patrick. She was desperate to put him in his place."

Unsurprisingly, the two have never worked together since.

8. Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks

The Real Housewives cast live for their catfights, but the war between Kandi and Phaedra took a surprisingly dark turn.

Once best friends, the pair began to drift apart and they each made the odd dig here and there – no biggie. Well it wasn't, until Phaedra claimed that Kandi had once tried to 'date rape' her co-star, Porsha Williams.

It turned out to be completely untrue, and during an emotional reunion show Kandi broke down in tears at her former friend, who has since been booted off the show for spreading the false accusation.
