An 85-year-old man was pushed to the ground on a London bus by a thug who then pickpocketed him in broad daylight.

The victim had just boarded a route 194 service at West Croydon Bus Station in south London when the incident happened, shortly before midday on April 11.

He felt a person behind him attempt to pickpocket him, and turned to react.

The suspect then pushed him over and stole his wallet, before running away.

“The elderly man was not hurt during the incident but was left shaken,” said a Scotland Yard spokesperson.

Officers investigating the robbery on Wednesday released an image of a man they want to trace.
