Next week's Hollyoaks episodes see Maxine Minniver's lies finally get exposed in dramatic style, while some of the other villagers try to rebuild their lives after the recent bomb blast.

Here's a full collection of nine storylines coming up.

1. Maxine starts to push her luck too far

A huge week for Maxine kicks off when she takes her lies another step further, telling Damon that she now only has a few weeks left to live. The couple try to get James to waive his legal fees at this "difficult time", but he refuses to dish out any special treatment.

If that wasn't bad enough for Maxine, things get worse when James asks to see her medical records. When James is unable to get his hands on the records, he starts to grow suspicious that all isn't as it seems with Maxine.

2. James takes action

Realising that he could be onto something here, James refuses to give up on his mission and is pleased when he learns that Maxine's medical records are in Mitchell's bag.

James gatecrashes Mitchell's drinks with Scott at The Dog, lying in wait for his chance to snatch the records. The slippery lawyer will be successful with his mission, and it's fair to say that he's in for a big shock when he reads the private medical information.

3. Maxine's lies are exposed

Hollyoaks bosses have now confirmed that Maxine's deception will be exposed next week. Damon will experience a rollercoaster of emotions as he learns that his wife isn't dying, despite her claims over the past few months.

The show isn't confirming how the truth comes out just yet, with James, Sienna, Mitchell, Grace, Brody and Scott all possible villagers who could be involved with the big reveal.

Other possibilities are that Damon discovers his wife's deceit for himself, or that Maxine finally snaps and makes a confession. But whatever happens, she'll certainly have a lot of explaining to do.

4. James agrees to start dating again

Marnie makes it her mission to get James dating again following Harry's disappearance, although she doesn't want to be too obvious with her efforts.

Inviting a new guy to the village, Marnie pretends that he's the son of one of her friends. Of course, subtlety isn't Marnie's strong point and it doesn't take long for James to realise what she's up to.

Although James scares the man in question away, he does decide to give the dating app a try for himself.

5. Liberty takes a pregnancy test

With Sienna caught up in Maxine's dramas, Liberty tries to cheer her up by offering to take a pregnancy test – wanting to see whether the implantation has worked.

Later in the week, Liberty has some exciting to news to share with Sienna. Is she expecting Brody and Sienna's baby?

6. Joel makes big decisions over his future

As Joel makes plans to join the Church of England and become a vicar, there's a mixed reaction from the McQueens. Goldie is thrilled at the thought that she and Joel can be together properly, but dangerous Breda isn't pleased by his constant flip-flopping.

Breda also points out that Joel would have to marry Goldie before having sexual relations (a bit late for that). Goldie misunderstands the situation and decides that Joel wants to marry her, leaving him exasperated as she goes full steam ahead with the wedding planning.

7. Breda confides in Tony

Poor Tony finds himself becoming an unwilling confidant for bonkers Breda as she continues to hold him captive on the pig farm.

Fearing that everything is going wrong – especially with Goldie and Joel making big plans for the future – Breda tells Tony that she's being tested and people are getting in the way of her mission. How will Tony cope with playing agony aunt to a serial killer?

8. Yasmine returns home

There's good news for Yasmine when she's discharged from hospital after the bomb blast caused by Jonny and the far-right gang. However, Yasmine understandably doesn't feel comfortable with the idea of returning home, knowing that the dangerous extremists still live next door.

Misbah asks Leela whether Yasmine and Imran can move in with her, keeping them safe.

9. Mitchell faces a big decision

Mitchell is given food for thought when Scott points out that they're clearly more than just friends. Still torn over how he feels, Mitchell reacts badly by insisting that he wants nothing more to do with him.

Noticing that her son has something on his mind, Martine talks to Mitchell and advises him to do what makes him happy. Is Mitchell any closer to following his heart?

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
