“90 Day”'s Big Ed Calls Off 'Impulsive' 24-Hour Engagement After Less Than a Week: 'Not Really What I Want, Obviously'
The TLC star, 59, realized he wants to "be single," days after he proposed to 29-year-old Porscha Raemond 24 hours after meeting her at a fan event in Florida
And just like that, Big Ed is single again.
Less than a week after the 90 Day Fiancé star announced he was engaged to 29-year-old Porscha Raemond just 24 hours after meeting her at a fan meet and greet, the TLC star confirmed that their engagement has ended.
"Love is a crazy thing... I did something that was impulsive, I asked this girl to marry me and after considering... It's too soon and it's not really what I want, obviously," Big Ed, 59, said in a video posted on his Instagram on Sept. 23. "After talking to my family, I realized that I don't wanna get married. I wanna be single. So I wish her – Porscha – the best in life."

He also shared the news in a post on his Instagram Stories as he called the proposal "a whirlwind and admittedly, a very impulsive moment."
"After some deep reflection and discussions with those closest to me, I've realized that rushing into this decision wasn't the right move. I have nothing but respect and love for Porscha and I wish her the best moving forward."
After proposing to Porscha, Big Ed told Page Six that it was love at first sight as he recalled being "amazed" when she walked in, calling her "this beautiful Italian dish."
Describing her as his "dream girl," he said they immediately "hit it off" at the fan meet and greet event in Plantation, Fla. and made plans for the following night. During dinner at YOLO restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, he told a friend, "Dude, this is the one. I want to ask her to marry me."

With his friend's encouragement, the reality star made a makeshift ring out of a paper clip, got down on one knee and said everyone in the restaurant went "crazy."
"I [told her], 'Look, I never want to let you go. I think I met the one. I want to marry you.' And she said, 'Yes,' and we hugged and we kissed."
Big Ed most recently appeared on season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, during which he and Liz Woods ended their engagement for the 15th time — but this time, for good. During the reunion, she introduced Ed to her new boyfriend Jayson, who she has been dating since earlier this year.
The exes ended on friendly terms, and he told PEOPLE in June he wants her to "be happy" with Jayson. "I'll always love Liz. She'll always be part of my life."
He was also previously engaged to Rose, who fans met on Before the 90 Days season 4.
