Get ready to shed some tears. Because the sweetest 90-year-old man wrote a list of tips to help fight loneliness, because it’s something he deals with on a daily basis.

Derek Taylor from Manchester, England has been overcome with loneliness ever since the passing of his partner and sister. He eventually grew tired of being lonely and not having anyone to talk to, so he decided to make a list that could benefit both himself and other elderly people. The purpose of the list is to help others continue living life to the fullest.

And it’s truly heartwarming, to say the least.

“The older you get, the less people seems to contact you,” Taylor said in an interview with BBC. “I thought, what can I do to stop being lonely? The older you get, the less people seem to contact you.”

Taylor’s list of tips to fight loneliness was published in the Manchester City Council’s Age-Friendly Manchester Program handout.

Here’s what he wrote:

Since writing the list, Taylor has taken his own advice and has become a lot more involved in his community. He has even made new friends by attending coffee clubs. “You feel as though you’re alive again,” he told the BBC.

In the handout, he wrote, “Coffee mornings are an ideal chance to discuss current events, including plans for future projects for the over-50s and how homes and neighborhoods can be designed to be age-friendly.”

We absolutely love Taylor’s thoughtfulness and dedication to helping himself and others.

Be still, our hearts.
