90s icon Chesney Hawkes to play gig in Walker as One and Only star announces UK tour
Probably not a place you'd ever expect to see him perform, but residents of Walker get learning the words to The One and Only, as 90s legend Chesney Hawkes is coming to town next year,
Chesney is the singer most famous for his aforementioned track, which hit the top spot in the UK and also went top 10 over the other side of the Atlantic. While that remains Chesney's only big hit in the UK, with follow up I'm A Man Not A Boy only reaching number 27, he has stayed in the spotlight for the last three decades.
His TV appearances include shows like Channel 4's The Games and Hit Me Baby One More Time on ITV, while he has also starred as the lead in Joseph & His Technicolour Dreamcoat and in Barry Manilow musical Can't Smile Without You.

Chesney will arrive at popular venue Anarchy Brew Co. in Walker on March 28 2025 on his first UK tour in 10 years which will also take him to the likes of Southend, Bristol, Cardiff and Southampton. Excited to hit the road again and release a brand new single and album, Chesney commented: "It’s really strange experiencing this all again - three decades later and with three decades worth of growing up. It’s taken a long time to feel confident enough to really throw myself back into a project but growing up and feeling much more comfortable and freer within myself has allowed that to happen."
Talking about his new music, specifically new single Get A Hold Of Yourself, he added: That’s what Get A Hold Of Yourself is about, getting hold of yourself and being free and not giving a f*ck what people think! I think people are going to be surprised that this is a Chesney track- I hope you enjoy it!"
