A coupé toupee! Stylist's world record after covering entire car in human HAIR

Wacky stylist Maria Lucia Mugno gave her coupe a toupee - by covering her car entirely in human hair.

Maria, 44, spent over 150 hours sewing strands of hair on to her furry Fiat to claim a new world record.

Despite originally winning the title in 2010, the Italian has now managed to add a further 20kg to the unusual vehicle to make it a cut above the rest and beat her old title.

Decorated with hair both inside and outside of the vehicle, the car evens comes complete with a hair-covered steering wheel.

Sculpted into the shape of butterfly wings, Maria and her art assistant, Valentino Stassano, now hope that the additional hair will serve as a symbol of freedom and peace in the world.

Chosen for its durability, Maria prefers to use hair imported from India as it is much stronger than that of its European counterpart.

But as most women know, buying hair extensions can be a costly process and the car is now estimated at a staggering 80,000 Euros.

Amazingly, Maria still drives the car on a regular basis and can even be seen nipping to the shops in her record-breaking Fiat.

But the mother-of-two knows the importance of a well kept barnet and admits that she sometimes gives the car a little brush down to make sure its looking its best.

Bizarrely, the idea began after a friend made a bet with her that she couldn't make a car covered in hair.

However, the hair artist managed to prove him wrong and has since reclaimed her title as the Queen of all things hairy.
