A Twitter account that claims to be tweeting undercover updates from inside Donald Trump’s White House has emerged – and it doesn’t make for fun reading.

The account, which uses the handle @RoguePOTUSstaff, is currently unverified, but claims to offer a secret glimpse into the workings of the White House.

Despite being established for only a matter of days, the account has now attracted over 500,000 followers for a brief glimpse at Donald Trump’s seemingly volatile administration.

One scathing tweet claims: ‘Potus fully overwhelmed after week on the job. Things spilling over into out of office lives for everyone.’

Another alleges: ‘Overheard through locked door: “Don’t they know I’m the f— President!?” POTUS displeased at resistance. #resist

Here’s a few of the other claims that the account has tweeted.

Despite the scathing allegations, it’s worth noting that the account is entirely unverified – and has done little to suggest that it is genuine either.

When pressed to give proof of its authenticity, the account holder replied: ‘Feel free to unfollow. We have families. This account could be violation of Hatch Act. What you act could be prosecuted as espionage. #inhiding’.

Others have claimed that the account is run by a right-winger who is attempting to whip up tensions and paranoia – but this is yet to be proven yet.

Even though it all feels pretty appropriate for the era of alternative facts…
