A1 crash: Car slams into central barrier after 'spinning out of control'

Debris was left strewn across the A1M this afternoon (November 21) after a car "spun out of control" and slammed into the central barrier. The crash was reported about 1:40pm on the northbound carriageway after the J15 Toll Bar Way at Sawtry.

Emergency services held traffic for about 20 minutes, according to traffic reporting tool INRIX. It is not yet known if anyone is injured.

A spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire Police said: "We were called at 1.42pm with reports of a single vehicle collision on the A1M northbound carriageway at Sawtry. The collision involved a car that had spun out of control and smashed into the central reservation of the motorway, causing debris across both carriageways.

"Officers are currently at the scene together with paramedics and motorists are urged to avoid the area. Details of injuries are currently unclear."
