A12 car and van crash sends man to hospital after road was shut causing traffic chaos near Chelmsford
A man has been rushed to hospital following a crash on the A12 this morning (November 25). A car and van were involved in the crash on the northbound carriageway near Chelmsford at around 7.30am.
The northbound carriageway was shut near the junction with the Howe Green Interchanged which connects to the A130. There were considerable delays on all approaches with traffic building on both sides of the A12 and on the A130.
The road was reopened after a short while after emergency services attended the scene. The East of England Ambulance Service has confirmed it took one man to hospital.

A spokesman said: "One ambulance was sent to the Northbound A12 near Great Baddow this morning following reports of a road traffic collision. One man was transported to Broomfield Hospital for further assessment and care."
Essex Police have appealed for witnesses of the crash to come forward. A spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a collision on the A12 between junctions 17 and 18 shortly after 7.35am today (Monday 25 November). It was reported a car and a van were involved.
"The northbound carriageway was closed for a time but has now re-opened. If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us. Please quote incident 223 of 25 November."
