There is traffic chaos on the M11 and A12 this afternoon (May 24) following two crashes. The M11 incident has taken place near the junction with the M25, causing issues on the major motorway and there are also long delays leading back to the A12 junction.

The A12 incident has taken place near junction 22 with Witham north, and there is congestion back to junction 19 with Boreham Interchange and the route through Witham.

On the M11, all lanes have now reopened and traffic is flowing freely, but it is expected to take some time to clear the backlog of congestion.

The A12 crash took place on the northbound carriageway and traffic monitoring site Inrix is reporting the carriageway is still partially blocked as a resut of the crash, with severe delays to people's journeys.

The road was fully closed for a short period of time. Again, the backlog of traffic will take some time to clear. It is not known if there have been any serious injuries in connection to either crashes.
