Emergency pot hole repairs have forced a lane of the A12 to be closed causing severe delays to people's journeys. The road was shut on the northbound carriageway of the road near Kelvedon this afternoon (November 19).

The closure took place between junction 23 with London Road to Kelvedon South, and junction 24 with Kelvedon north. A severe pot hole required emergency work causing crews to close the lane for some time shortly before 1pm today.

There is significant congestion on the A12 with traffic queuing back to junction 22 with Witham north.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix reports that the lane has now been reopened but some delays still remain on the A12 northbound. Motorists are advised to allow extra time if travelling in the area.
