A1M: Woman rushed to hospital after car 'spun out of control' and crashed on Cambridgeshire motorway
A woman was taken to hospital by members of the public after a crash on the A1M in Cambridgeshire on Thursday (November 21). The crash involved a single vehicle which had "spun out of control", according to a Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson.
Officers were called to reports of a single-vehicle crash on the A1M northbound at Sawtry at 1.42pm. A force spokesperson said: "The collision involved a car that had spun out of control and smashed into the central reservation of the motorway, causing debris across both carriageways."
The road was closed while officers attended and traffic was held for about 20 minutes, according to travel monitoring site Inrix. One lane remained closed until around 2pm.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 1.50pm to a road traffic collision on the A1 near Sawtry. An ambulance and critical care response vehicle were sent to the scene.
"The patient, an adult woman, had been taken by members of the public to the local services. When the emergency services arrived there, she had reportedly been taken home. A follow-up at her home address was arranged to make sure she was ok."
