A21 diversion details as two weeks of road closures planned in run-up to Christmas

Full diversion details have been confirmed ahead of more than two weeks of planned overnight A21 closures in the run-up to Christmas. Resurfacing and safety barrier renewal works are scheduled for the A21 Tonbridge Bypass northbound, starting from Monday, December 2.

This will require frequent overnight closures between the A26 Vauxhall Junction and Morleys Road roundabout near Sevenoaks. Closures will be in effect between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Saturday each week until Thursday, December 19.

Additionally, the A21 northbound will shut from the Longfield Junction to Morleys Road roundabout for three nights between Wednesday, December 4 and Friday, December 6. Again, this stretch will be closed from 8pm to 6am each night.

Finally, continued safety works will require the A21 southbound to shut on weeknights from Monday, December 2 to Friday, December 20. Between these dates, the route will close from 8pm to 6am, Monday to Friday, between Morleys Road roundabout to Vauxhall roundabout.

Diversion details

  • Vauxhall Junction to Morleys Road roundabout closure: The diversion route will be via the A2014 onto the B245 and joining the A21 at Morleys Road roundabout.

  • Longfield Junction to Morleys Road roundabout closure: Traffic will be diverted via the A264 at Pembury onto the A26 over the A21 to get onto the B245 and back onto the A21 at Morleys Road roundabout.

  • Morleys Road roundabout to Vauxhall roundabout closure: Road users will be diverted via B245, A227, East Street, A26 to rejoin the A21.
